A quick peek at our day in Tangier.
This silk scarf salesman, Abduhl, had the best pick-up line I've ever heard.
He tells my Mr. C that "Your wife has beautiful spirit.
She is happy. I would give to you 1,000 camels for her."
True story.
Mr. C turned him down, though......
The shipping for livestock was prohibitive.
Super cute!
ReplyDeleteSo you know, MC, that for sure he sold me a scarf......
DeleteYou look gorgeous in that color Sherrie...Oh wait what am I thinking you look good in any color but especially that "Pink" I'm thinking you did good on buying the scarf...That's quite a complement 1000 camels right??? Love it!!!
DeleteThanks, JR. Didn't buy the pink one, though......But I learned how to do a turban! I think "one thousand camels" was a compliment, but.....perhaps I should be offended 'cause he thought of me as property that he could buy for the right price! Mr. C says he would never sell for one thousand. He says I'm worth at least one thousand and one camels........
ReplyDeleteI love your blog & stories
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, thanks MC! The stories are the best part of the travel adventure. I figure anybody can get the checkmark ~ "I was there"; "Here's my photo in front of whatever". But the stories! The people who you cross paths with that make a story, now those are the real memories.
DeleteYou can bet that whenever I talk about Morocco, I will remember Abdul and his "One thousand camels" offer!
