Photo Of The Day ~ Ecuador Day 4
Well, it's been quite a day. The Labor Day Demonstration took place right before our eyes today, and it was no joke. This is the view from our terrace ~ we had front row (very safe) seats. We shared the balcony with a representative from Police Intelligence; another from Military Intelligence; A photographer from largest newspaper in Ecuador, and two television station film crews.
It's a story for another time, but I wanted to let you know that we watched, we listened, we learned; and most importantly, we survived!
Battalions in full riot gear were "At Ready"
And not dozens, not hundreds, but thousands of police officers. Everywhere you looked. All my photos today are yellow.
It's an interesting and exciting upcoming story!
But tomorrow we leave for the Galapagos Islands, and I will be unable to post from the ship; so stay tuned, I'll be back soon with some wonderful animal stories to share, I'm sure! I read an article that you can swim with the sharks there -- the water is so clear that their hunting is excellent, so they don't bother with human snacks.
That's what I read, I swear it. Not sure if I believe it though.
I'll let you know.
And if you don't hear from me by weeks' end, you'll know it wasn't so.
